THE SOUNDSCAPE AS AN INTAGIBLE HERITAGE. NEW METHODOLOGICAL CONVERGENCES.
Subdirección General del Instituto del Patrimonio cultural. Ministerio de Cultura.( Spain) 2019-2020.
This project wants to study the concept of a soundscape as an Immaterial Heritage in depth in its theoretical dimension as well as the methodological and applied dimensions. It branches off from three approaches: the interdisciplinary (social sciences, architecture, acoustics, music…), the multisensory (investigating the relationships between sound and the other senses, particularly the audio-visual relationship), and the multi-scaled (global and local). These are new necessary advances in the cognitive field of soundscapes that carry the adequate demarcation, safeguarding, and conservation of the sound environments that can have an aesthetic and cultural value, or that are in the process of disappearing. This project intends to establish a common setting, take up previously realized works of the field again, open new perspectives, and provide consensual tools in this field.
